At Sycamore

Well, it was 55 degrees when we got up this morning. In two days we went from air conditioning to the furnace running. How quickly things change. We went out for breakfast this morning at the Colony Inn, another good meal. We left Amana at 8:55 this morning and arrived here a little after 1pm this afternoon. We have just made contact with the family and we will meet about 7 this evening. I hear Pizza is on tap for the this evening. We saw a lot of good crops coming up. Most of the rivers were running bank full from all the rain they have been having but not much flooding. More later. Larry

Hi from Amana

Hi to all. We made it into Amana about 3:30 this afternoon. I cleaned the bugs off the front of the camper while Glenda did a few things inside + tried to figure out how to use their wifi. It took a while. We took Dorothy out to do a little site seeing at woolen mill and the furniture factory but it had just turned 5 o'clock and they had just closed. Maybe next time. We then decided it was time to eat so went to the Brick Haus. These folks know how to cook! It is served home style and there must have been enough food for six people. After supper we took a driving tour of the area and saw what we could with the amount of time we had. We are planning on going to the Colony Inn for breakfast in the morning. On our way

Hi to all
Well the trek has started. We left home at 3:43 pm yesterday. It wasn't long before we had our first failure. The closet poll bracket broke. Due to the time of the year we are traveling we have summer clothes as well as warmer weather clothes and the poll was way over loaded. A repair was made at Fairfax were we spent the night and picked up Dorothy for the trip on to the windy city for the upcoming wedding. We are stopped at an Iowa reststop for lunch. They have internet access here. More later. Larry
